Weekend Palanca

Palanca is the act of sacrificing, extending mercy or praying on behalf of another. While we express this on a UEC weekend with notes and small gifts, it is the attitude of our heart that makes it true Palanca.

Just think about how many people support Unidos en Cristo. Hundreds of letters from cursillo organizations, prisons and other Christian "walks" around the country and the world arrive for each Weekend! Please prayerfully think about the Palanca you send for the upcoming Weekends. You might write an encouraging note ... honor the Weekenders with a contribution to a food shelf, homeless shelter, or favorite charity ... or, consider enclosing a check with a Palanca note to help cover the weekend expenses.

Address Palanca to:

Men of Unidos en Cristo #_______
Women of Unidos en Cristo # _______

Cash donations for a specific weekend may be sent as well. Please note what weekend you are honoring on your check and make it payable to: Unidos en Cristo # _______. Your Palanca will be announced in the Rollo Room. Please enclose a note letting us know if you wish to remain anonymous.

Send all Palanca via U.S. Mail to the current Palanca Coordinator:

Rich Schmid, Palanca Coordinator
1865 Stieger Lake Ln.
Victoria, MN 55386
schmid@unidosencristo.com

Please allow adequate time for mail delivery. Palanca will be delivered in time for each weekend.

Rollo Room Palanca

When sending Palanca to the Rollo Room, please be sure to include enough for EIGHT at each table, and EIGHT at the Leadership table. Palanca for the Rollo Room must include enough for all Weekenders and Team or it cannot be distributed in the Rollo Room. It will, however, be placed into the Weekender Palanca Bags. If you are unable to stop by the 4th Day Room on the weekend to drop off your Palanca, please send it to the Palanca Coordinator as listed above, for delivery to the specific weekend.

Note: Please check the latest Palanca Press newsletter to determine how many tables will be on a specific weekend.

JOG (Joy of Giving)

Each weekend is sponsored by brothers and sisters in Christ who lovingly share in the JOY of passing on God's Love to the weekenders. Sharing their time, talents, finances; and, by being His hands, arms, fingers, feet, ears, mouth, and whatever else is needed to exemplify His great LOVE for each weekender. Team members and 4th Day Community are given an opportunity to share in the Joy of Giving (JOG) to pass God's Love on to future Unidos en Cristo weekends either when serving on a Team or during the Sunday night Clausuras, at the end of each weekend.

Weekenders are given their first opportunity to share in the Joy of Giving (JOG) following their weekend. No one ever needs to contribute out of a feeling of obligation or in amounts beyond their means. While we cannot repay the gifts we receive from God, we are encouraged to "pass it on." One way to accomplish this task is through generous and joyful giving in support of future Unidos en Cristo weekends.

United Way Contributions

Did you know that you can designate some of your United Way contribution to Unidos en Cristo? When you fill out your United Way contribution form, find the location to designate funds to a 501 (c) (3) organization. List the name of the organization as "Unidos en Cristo" - 404 Union Terrace Lane N., Plymouth, MN 55441. That is all there is to it! As with all United Way contributions, these will be tax deductible, too.
