Is your church affiliated with UEC?
Determine if your church is a UEC affiliated church. Go to our Church
Listing.
If your church is already affiliated with UEC, ask the church office to help
you contact the UEC Liaison at your church. The Liaison will help you find a
Sponsor.
If your church is not yet involved
with UEC or there is not currently a Liaison at your church that can
help you, and you do not know someone who can sponsor you, please contact
a UEC Council member. We will do our best to help your church
get involved so you can attend a weekend.
Do you have a Sponsor?
To attend an Unidos en Cristo (UEC) weekend, you will need a Sponsor
— someone who has already attended a UEC weekend.
Your Sponsor will give you an application or you can download
an application here. Go to our Calendar to
determine which weekend you would like to attend. Fill out the Applicant
portion of the application. Then, pass it on to your Sponsor who
will complete the application and send it in for processing.
Do you meet the Applicant Requirements?
• Applicant for a weekend will be a member or active participant in
a UEC church or a church that is active in a
different cursillo-type movement. Other cursillo organizations in Minnesota
include Via de Cristo, Walk to Emmaus, Episcopal Cursillo, Tres Dias
and Catholic Cursillo.
• Applicant for a weekend will be at least 21 years old at the time
of the weekend.
• Both husband and wife of a married couple will attend together on
a set of weekends. This applies to all married couples including married
couples who are separated. We
encourage you to read the brochure, “UEC
for Married Couples” for better
understanding of this policy. While UEC
is not a marriage renewal weekend, testimonies by married couples that
have attended UEC together indicate that
common Christian purpose is often discovered when both spouses share
a similar experience and understanding.
• If the husband or wife in a married couple has attended a cursillo-type
weekend or a TEC weekend (Teens Encounter Christ - cursillo for teenagers),
then the spouse who has not previously attended may attend a UEC weekend
without the spouse who has attended. However, we encourage attendance
by both as a couple anyway, for the sake of mutual unity and understanding
within the weekend.
• Applicants who are being sponsored by those from another UEC church
should be cosponsored by someone from
the Applicant’s church.
• Clergy Signature is required before an application is accepted. If
church does not have a UEC clergy, then a
non-UEC clergy or the UEC Liaison may sign the application.
If your church is affiliated with UEC,
you have a Sponsor and
you meet
the Applicant requirements,
you may attend a UEC Weekend!
We hope to
see you there soon!
